How Young Is Too Young To Learn To Read?

Although most children begin reading in kindergarten or first grade, learning to read isn't as simple as picking up a book. Without help or preparation, children do not learn to decode letters, words, and sentences. Skills that contribute to literacy begin to develop the moment a child is born.

Additionally, as children learn to communicate and are exposed to written language and books, they start reaching key milestones for reading. Therefore, the age that children begin to read varies and also depends on factors as wide-ranging as cognitive development and socioeconomic differences.

So how young do you think is too young to learn how to read?
